On a journey of knowing the love of Christ in setting us free from depending on our selves and finding ALL our sufficiency in Christ
Over the years we have come to understand our identity as a church. We are not about buildings or programs. We don't motivate or measure people by how often they attend, how much they give or how great they are or aren't at serving. We are made up of people from all walks of life.
We operate with a different approach and mindset in our journey with God and one another. We don't "pretend" to have it all together or "play" prosecutor, judge and jury with the world around us! We are people who desire to know and be known by Jesus while not getting caught up in "religion". We pursue to know each other beyond the perception that people attempt to "present" on social media or the "appearance" of having it all together.
We spend time hanging out in the Bible with one another not for sake of finding information to separate us from the world or fix all our "problems" but for revelation in three realities in every person's journey—To know the love Christ has for us and live out it. Can knowing God be as simple and beautiful as that? We seek to move past "empty theological debates", "meaningless pursuit in finding identity in what we do" and "creating division with others by the way the culture tells us how we are to identify ourselves (political views, sexuality, ethnicity, etc.)".
We know that life can be difficult and that’s why we all need God’s grace. Maybe you are like us--NO Religious background, trying to find your way or just DONE with religious activity that brings no LIFE. No matter where you are at we want to invite you to come share our journey.
Come and join us on Wednesday evenings for bible study group at 06:00pm.
We meet Wednesday evenings from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a time for connecting afterwards @ Nagongora House Room 3, Ntinda
No. The offering we take each Wednesday is given by those who consider Desert Streams their church home. We recognize that guilt, obligation and pressure are used in the church to get people to give to build bigger buildings and more programs . This is not how we approach giving..
We encourage you to come and focus on building relationships. As that grows we want to come alongside and join with you in finding your passion.
We do not motivate by guilt or try to shove the Bible down your throat. We believe that questioning and doubting spiritual beliefs is important and a critical part of our journey with God. We do not expect you to come and believe just like us or else you can't belong, but rather to come and join us with all your questions and doubts as we encounter Jesus Christ.
It would be great to have you visit. We encourage people to come at least three times to get a good feel for who we are. We believe that you will find Desert Streams to be a place where you can connect and journey with God and others. We are not a perfect place, but rather a place where people can be real and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. We find that the people that are drawn into our community are people who have never been in church, people who went to church as a kid but have not gone since being a teenager, people who have had bad experiences with church and people who have moved to the area looking to lay down roots.
